maslow'theory depends onneed hirarchy iephysiological, safety, social, self esteem and self actulisation needs.whereas herzberg theory is based on hygiene factors and motivators we can correlate the first three needs with hygiene factors and the last two with motivators.both the theories are universal theories. another similarity is that they presume that the needs reflects behaviour .
The differences are;-
*in maslow,s theory there is hierarchy of needs ie order but in the herzberg's model the factors do not have any order they may get satisfied with any order.
*in maslow's theory remuneration is motivator if it satisfies needs but it is not so in the other theory
*the first one has a wide approach but the second theory considers only the work situations
*maslow's theory is applicable to all types of jobs but herzberg theory is only meant for staff and managerial jobs.
