What pages have figurative language in the book "Summer of My German Soldier" by Bette Greene?

On page 27 in my bok The girl is talking about her grandmother's cooking.  She explained that it is better than the cooking at her house.  She uses the following simile to describe the her grandmother's cooked food.


"It's still like eating somebody else's food, while Grandma's is like finally coming home."(27)


Patty has read an article abouts spies and panicks a little.  She uses the following words in reaction to the idea of her being a spy.  The heart striking personifies the heart giving it a human like quality as being able to strike the wall.


"I felt my heart striking against the inner wall of my chest."(75)
