What was one piece of good news that the boys had after the huge storm?

I assume that you are talking about the storm that blows up while the three boys are out on the island.  If that is what you are looking for, then the piece of good news is that their fire had not been completely put out by the wind and the rain.


It had been sort of protected because it had been built against a huge log.  It had burned up into the under part of the log, where the wind and the rain couldn't reach it.  So they were able to get it burning again pretty easily.
